I've been working on trying to find and collect mp3s of the songs from the original Sesame Street album, the one I had when I was little. If there were any way to buy an e-version or a CD of the album, I'd do it, but it doesn't exist so I'm limited to what others have put online.

I'm not entirely sure what brought that album to mind and started this project. Maybe it's because it's the first music of my own I remember having? So far I've found fewer than half the songs, but they include my very favorite - J-Jump. Though Somebody Come and Play is a new challenger for the 'favorite' position.

I also need to work on obtaining my favorites of the original Schoolhouse Rock songs. I think those are available on CD, but the comprehensive CD set is out of print and hard to get ahold of. The comprehensive DVD is much easier and cheaper to find, so maybe I'll content myself with that. I have a Schoolhouse Rock cover album and for reasons I can't begin to figure out, the songs that are close enough to their originals that I can sing along with them make me teary. Why do I seem to have a very visceral reaction to Schoolhouse Rock? Will the original versions have the same effect on me that the covers do? Who knows.
